My language is set to English.

The movie description is presented in English.

The preview (Jaws for example) plays with the French overdub.

Other previews do the same.

Help appreciated.

Could be an encoding error for the file.

Check in AppleTV audio settings what your default audio language setting is (at least i think it has one) - if this is English I'd guess the encoding is messed up so report it to Apple using 'Report a problem' in your invoice email or via iTunes account purchase history links.

While the movie is playing hold the select button down - if there are multiple language tracks it should allow you to change to English if available - until recently most had only 1 or 2 audio tracks.

Check reviews in itunes too to see if others are having the same problem.

Since this is a trailer not a purchase I have no invoice.

I assume that the select button is the triangular play button on the thumbnail. If so, nothing happens when holding it down.

Start Trek is definitely in English. I live in Quebec which is why it might default to French (although this may be very politically incorrect).

    Thanks for your reply.

You can't judge by trailers at all - they only have a single soundtrack and generally stereo only so you can't infer for dolby digital 5.1 either.

As you ay Quebec may be getting a French audio version - best thing is to check in itunes on a computer - available audio languages and/or surround sound and close captioning availability should be listed there.  If you rent or buy and find it's not in English complain to itunes store support - they are generally pretty good with these kind of things.

This is what I see in UK iTunes store - multiple audio language soundtrcaks listed plus closed captioning:

Also that's a pain if it only has english in 5.1 if you have no way of playing that!

Though the trailer in iTunes on a Mac for me in UK has stereo English audio.
