I set up a new playlist using iTunes11 and Lion, the "add to" feature by clicking on the sideways carrot next to a song title and using the dropdown box "add to" and the name of my playlist. By the time I was done I had over 1100 songs for this particular playlist. I did this over about 5 days going alphabetically by artist.

The problem: about 1/2 the ratings on the songs changed.

I went thru looking for commonalities: date added to playlist, purchased vs cd recorded songs, ratings above/below, original rating vs new rating, date added to library, songs in succession, every 3rd or 4th or xx song added, did I play the song before adding it to the playlist.  The drop down box does not appear anywhere near the ratings list in the library so there was no potential for inadvertantly clicking on the rating while doing the dialogue box function.
   - I found nothing common amongst the songs that changed.

Has anyone else come across this problem?
