I choose reset>delete all content and settings

After the iphone rebooted I choose, setup as a new iphone and not from backup, as we can upload our backed up data afterwards.

After entering my wifi details, the phone connected, but when I reached the register iphone screen it failed to register so my problem still existed, I then plugged my iphone into the computer BUT I did not update via iTunes, what I done was went to my routers interface and changed a few settings,

    Wireless mode. Mixed g + n

    Bandwidth. 20/40 mhz

    Qos wmm. Off

    Protected mode. Off

Now protected mode doesn't refer to my encryption, that remained on wpa2 psk the whole time, protection mode refers to encapsulating traffic erm. Protection mode should always be off if you had a reason for it to be on you would know about it

Anyway my router would have soft rebooted, so any of you with the above settings, stuck on the register iphone screen, reboot your router, wait a couple minutes and try again. Hopefully success should incur, I'm sending this message on my i5 now.

I solve the probleme in this way:

    Within WIFI setting

Choose a Network... > Click Other... > Add your wifi Name manually

(if there is security wpa,wpa2 according to your network, also password)
    ENJOY....

I have similar problem. I got iphone5 recently and everything was fine until sudenly it started having problem with wifi. First i couldnt connect on my home wifi. Then i restores and it was better. But new problem arrived: i had signal in one part od appartment, but nothing in another. On ipad3 and wifes iphone4 everything is fine. But iphone5 has big problem. Then i bought time capsule and i have wifi in whole apartment. On other wifis also problem, sometimes. At my parents home, when i come close to wifi router, i can connect. As soon as i live the room i get "not able to connect". I go back to room and than i can connect to wifi.

Is it a harware problem or maybesoftware? Or maybe its router that is bad? In my apartment, before time capsule there was Tp link, and at my parent home there is Linksys Cisco expensive router (120eur 5 years ago)?

I had the problem with wifi transmissions stopping a few seconds after connecting, and this was my solution:

    Turning off roaming/ Edge /3G

Seems like the wifi was crippled by the edge/3G connection somehow.

    Now it works fine.

Hi, here in Belgium i have the same issues! If i am close to my router(s), this means less than 2meters, i can connect normally to wifi. But further than that it doesnt work. The router is detected with a good signal but got message unable to connect network. I also think the battery is going empty faster. I think this is the case since i upgraded my brand new iphone 5 to ios602.

    Tried Fr4nk3's suggestion:

    Turning off roaming/ Edge /3G

    Conclusion: Did not work.

    Sorry, but thanks for posting.

Same exact problem here.  I have an iPad Mini, iPad 3, iPad 1, iPod Touch, and my wife has an iPhone 4.  All connect fine.  My iPhone 5 can not connect to the wifi.

I can provide an update on my situation, unfortunately it's not good news :-(

My wifi has always connected but is slow, drops out when the phone is idle and drops out when trying to use video streaming apps like Youtube, BBC iPlayer or Gametrailers etc.

Went to a Genius Bar today and the Rep changed my iPhone without hesitation.  He said he'd never heard of an issue with wifi stability on the iPhone 5.  I directed him to the Apple Support Forums but he dismissed it outright.

Sadly this new i5 is already on 6.0.2 and is exactly the same... well, actually it is WORSE!)

I feel like I've tried everything now.  For me it doesn't appear to be the hardware issue some other people have had.  It looks like it could be iOS 6.

Not sure what options I have now.  My contract is with O2 and they haven't been overly helpful as I'm 3 months into my 24 month contract.

I'm going to contact head office and plead for some goodwill. Hopefully they'll take pity and and exchange my iPhone for a Samsung Galaxy SIII.

I also have the same problem.

Using 3G goes perfect, but with wifi no way.

I am not in the States so, i guess that excludes carrier or modem problem

Can Apple do something please ?

Looks like 6.1 beta 5 came out tonight. Its being reported that this looks like it will be the final as it doesnt have the expiration or locked to UDIDs the way the betas are. Hopefully there is a fix because if not, it won't be for a while.

Please, everyone, write about your problems here.

    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Apple wont do anything if people dont apply with bad feedback!!!

I managed to solve my problems which were due to problems with router and adsl modem in bridge mode. New modem new isp and both turned with two NAT services made it work.

Funny is that my friend's iphone 4 managed to connect and work excellent with old settings, but my our all ios devices at home exponentialy stared to have problems with many services, first being my new iphone 5.

Some inherent vulnerability of wifi card in iphone 5 is obvious.

Of course, my friend also had ios5 because he likes to keep his iphones jailb.

    Good luck.

I posted in feedback! With a link to this thread in the post.
