The Nas is pretty noisy, and the routers now in the living room some distance from where my mac is, My nas is litrally right next to the mac so easy reach for the cable.
Is there a way to stop the Nas Ethernet from thinking its Internet?
There seems to be lots of different settings for the Config but I really don't know what they all mean

Internet Sharing in the sharing preferences is really just Apple's user-friendly term for running network address translation to bridge two network connections. If you set it up with the wifi being sent to the ethernet port, your NAS should work the way that you intend it to (as long as your mac is running).

ah right did a bit more research on what you said, changed the share setting like you said and it seamed to work Unfortunalty only once set to 'Internet Sharing' ticked & not ticked - ticked 'Ethernet' 'Share your conntion from Wi-Fi'
Had Ethernet conected on reboot, and still had internet harrah,
the navageted to server and conetted to it, it found conection Harrah
Then went back to internet and had no conection Booo
ejected Nas from finder window - still no internet Booo
Remove Ethernet from back of Mac - Internet back again Harrah Booo

I would try putting your NAS on its own separate subnet. The NAS is probably set to receive an IP via DHCP (i think this because you said it worked right away when connected to your router), so just make sure that your computer's ethernet port is set to a different IP subnet. ie: if your internet IP address is 192.168.0.x, set the ethernet port to 192.168.1.1

OMG I think that cracked it... I am seeing my NAS and still have internet
I sort of fiddle a bit with the sharing like you said, as I noticed it was saying 'Interet Sharing Off' still so ticked it again and it switched on.
So at the moment think its working, thanks so much for your help

Ah ok I sort of cross with replys, Its seams I did not have to switch the DHCP but I have saved this information in case it fails again.
Thanks so much for your help it was a pain to keep removing the cable each time I wanted internet.
Thanks you have been a big help
