I have an ipod touch, an ipad retina display and a classic ipod 80GB, but the one I have problems with when syncing is my Classic Ipod.

It is set up to open and sync with iTunes when connected to my laptop, because I want my entire music library on it.

However, I don't want it to sync any of my apps that I have on my iTouch or Ipad.

However, it appears to have synced everything.

I have now unchecked everything apart from music, but although it has my 33.5GB of music it is still showing approx 35gb of "other", leaving me with only approx 8Gb of free space.

The only mention of what the "other" could be is when I go into "Computer" on my laptop and then into the "external drive", i.e. my ipod. This seems to then list all of my apps and games from my ipod touch and ipad.

How can I sync it so that I only have my music on the ipod?

Thanks for any help!

I think the Apps thing is a red herring. The iPod Classic cannot use Apps and iTunes should not be putting any of them onto it.

However, Other is files usually that have become corrupted. There will always be a small amount of Other on your iPod, but 35Gb is not small! The usual remedy for this, if a Sync doesn't sort it out, is to do a Restore iPod.

The Restore iPod command can be found on the iPod/Summary pane. Be aware though, that this will erase everything on the iPod and then put back on it only what is in your iTunes Library.
