Try plugging in the charger in multiple times.

Well, I've had the same problem, too. Check your charger cable, the adapter, and other devices that interfere with it. I have other solutions. Because this was posted in 2012, I'm gonna go with the iPod touch (5th generation). The 5th generation iPod touch uses, i don't know, guessing like 10 volt? Anyways, check your vall to see if it meets the voltage.

- Try another cable
- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector for bend or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.
