Try burning the disc from within iTunes, which should append all metadata to the music files so items like artist, track number, and title are all intact as they appear in iTunes. To do this, create a playlist of your songs and then right-click the list and choose the option to burn the disc. Then choose the "MP3 CD" option and click the Burn button.
I thought I tried that and all the files were converted to .wav files coming from itunes. If I could do it this way and get a CD full of mp3s that would save all the work of me having to copy each track from its own folder and making a burn folder.
What is the exact process so I am on the same page?
iTunes>Preferences YOu can convert to mp3 on import.
You can also select file types in the Library and create mps duplicates. iTunes>File>Create New Version>create mp3
