HT1430: Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and resetLearn about Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
It depends how you are using the phone. Battery life specs:
- Talk time: Up to 8 hours on 3G
- Standby time: Up to 225 hours
- Internet use: Up to 8 hours on 3G, up to 8 hours on LTE, up to 10 hours on Wi-Fi
- Video playback: Up to 10 hours
- Audio playback: Up to 40 hours
Note the "up to". These values assume a strong cellular signal. If you have less than 5 bars the cellular usage will be much shorter.

Most of my usage is Internet, Facebook, and messaging. Does this average seem right to you or should I take it in to the Verizon store, since it is less than 10 days old?
Thank you for your reply.
Depending on your settings Facebook can use a huge amount of data, and use it in background. This can run the battery down quite fast. If you are using it continuously for 5 hours and the battery runs down significantly this could be in the normal range.
If you have it set to get all updates, including photos, that can consume a lot of data. As a test try killing the Facebook background app and don't open it for a few hours. When on the Home screen double press the HOME button. A ribbon will appear at the bottom of the screen. If Facebook is not visible scroll the ribbon with your finger until it is, then hold your finger on it for a couple of seconds until a "-" appears on it. Then tap the "-" to kill the app and its background process.
