BTW, I would like to add that the calendar I am having trouble with is a Sports Calendar that you can subscribe to via Google's Browse Interesting Calendars (this one happens to be a college basketball calendar).  Wierdly, I can access another "Interesting Calendar" (this one happens to be a MLB team calendar), but the basketball one does not show in iCal.  Also, other subscribed calendars (that are not interesting according to Google) also appear in my Google calendar online and in iCal.

I am getting the same problem with server with secure...

Up until probably two weeks ago, I haven't had any issues with iCal, Google Calendar, or iCal on my iPhone. Now, I have 7 "election day" events, I can't read/write any of my delegates and have had zero luck with what Cavemancooking posted months ago.

    Anyone have other ideas?

Looks like Google is changing how delegates (i.e. calendars besides the main calendar) are being displayed:

Here is a quote from the Google Calendard help forum:

    Hi all,

Thanks for the posts! We are in fact working on some changes to the way secondary calendars are handled in iCal, and while these changes roll out, some of you might be seeing something different each time you use iCal. We're sorry about this but hope it's going to be better in the long run!

    Great Idea Śāntanu,

works just fine for me !!

    - Edit -

looks like Calendar and Delegates are working on an on-off-on-off basis. Will wait until the folks at Google get it back to work again.

    Hi all

Having spent what feels like years of my life trying to get rid of duplicate calendars, I have finally found something that may help:

It seems Google no longer use delegation but it happens automatically if you use an account preference of google and not your email

I went into and checked that the calendars I wanted were correct.

Then into ical, this bit taken from setting up a new iCal Google Calendar

    1. Open Apple iCal
    2. In the toolbar, click Calendar, then Preferences
    3. Click the Accounts tab
    4. In the accounts pane on the left, click the + button to add an account
    5. Enter the following information:
    • Account Type: Google
    • Email Address: Enter the email address that you use to log in to Calendar. Make sure to include the '' portion (which is for Gmail users) in this section.
    • Password: Enter the password for the email address you listed above.

I had previously had an email account and therefore delegation duplicates too.

If you previously synced additional calendars using Delegation, you have to remove those settings to prevent duplicate events:

    1. In the iCal toolbar, click Calendar, then Preferences
    2. Click the Accounts tab
    3. Select the correct account in the left pane and click Delegation
    4. Deselect all checkboxes for your additional accounts

Now instead of having my email calendars, cloud and delegation, the delegation ones are gone and I have google showing but No duplications, hurrah!

PS I forgot to add, once you have the google account running don't forget to go back into iCal preferences and delete the original email account in Calendars or you will definitely get duplicates!

and THIS solved my problem which was grey ticked delegates on left had side without the coloured sub-box below... deleting the old account & following your instructions using CalDAV instead of Google account type restored the coloured boxes and with them, all the delegated calendars. Thanks Śāntanu.

This seems to be the only place I can ask this question - This morning, our office of 8 came in to find that we cannot see each other's calendars - I am only talking about iCal accounts. We haven't even tried to sync google calendars. Do I need to go to everyone's computer and delete their account and create a new one?

May I suggest you start a new thread as this thread is focussing on the google-calander sync issue so a non-google calendar problem is unlikely to get the right attention here.

Also suggest that you provide a little more info - you say you are only talking about iCal accounts, state on the new thread if they sharing via iCloud or another service.

Thank you, I've done as you suggested.
