Can iPhoto 9.4.2 make and burn PAL slideshows> I mean PAL as opposed to NTSC, I live in Holland and we use the PAL format.

Mac mini, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), 2.3GHz Intel Core i5,8GB 1333MHz D

iPhoto can output a PAL slideshow, yes. Note the Custom Expoort options on the export panel. iPhoto can't burn a slideshow. You need a DVD app for that. iDVD if you have it but it is no longer developed by Apple. You may be able to get it on an old iLIfe install disk. There are other options:

    Burn: http://macupdate.com/app/mac/21992/burn

    Toast: http://macupdate.com/app/mac/6351/toast-titanium

But there are lots of others too. Search on the App Store or MacUpdate

    Regards

Whether or not this DVD is PAL depends on the software making the DVD, not iPhoto. So check the Help on that app or their support people.

ANd I'm not sure about that you're right about the options being limited to Apple hardware...

See the button for 'Custom Export'...?

But in your case that doesn't matter. Your exporting to a size that will burn to DVD so export at medium or large and then add it to your dvd project.

And note the settings buttons in that final window...
