See this article - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3820?viewlocale=en_US. If you have sucessfully registered it, the logo will appear with the PRO icon on it.

however, what the link doesn't say is that once registration is accepted, we need to quit & relaunch QuickTime so that the Pro options get ungreyed.
note for helping people who don't want to visit the above mentioned link: the "trick" is very simple indeed.
- once you've entered your details, PRESS THE TAB KEY and you'll see the Pro logo displayed
- quit & relaunch QuickTime
