How do i burn or convert dvds to my computer. i have a work put video i that someone else has burned and im trying to burn in it from my mac and just can not figure out how to do this . what software do i need.

    What do You mean ?

     

    • Copy a Home made DVD into another new one ?

     

    • Copy a bought one - Illegal to even discuss in some countries e.g. Germany - SORRY NO HELP

     

    • Burn a movie You made in iMovie or FinalCut out as a standard Video-DVD ?

     

    or What ?

     

    Please describe much more.

    Illegal to even discuss in some countries e.g. Germany

     

    In the US they have this silly law.  So it can be discussed, but NOT on this board as part of the TOU.

    I use Handbrake.  Just upgraded to 3.0 that allows for automatic conversion to h.264.   Fairly simple program that lets you rip the entire disk, just the main movie, etc....All clean, multi-platform, nothing fancy, open-source. Works perfectly for me, every single time. And it's well architected. Among other things, all the GUI does is build a command line to eventually call the CLI version of HandBrake.
