GB is backwards compatible, it looks like your project is damaged and doesn't have the audio file(s) any more.
Go to the Finder, ctrl-click the project, select "Show Package Content" and go to the "Media" folder. Is it empty? Does it contain the file "NoEffects#11.aif"?

When I showed package contents those tracks indeed were missing. There actually were a few tracks that were there and were playable in GB 11' but they had no effects on them (They do have effects on the master file in GB 08'). What would make some of the tracks copy but others go missing? It makes no sense. My most recent project I started a week ago, and it didn't copy ANY of the tracks. Plus, it is extremely discouraging for the effects not to copy over with the tracks. I wouldn't want to go through 20 tracks and re-add every single effect to each. Why aren't they saving/copying/crossing over correctly?

It seems like your project is damaged - normally all sound files that the project uses should be in the Media folder.
It's okay that they have no effects - GB always saves the raw, unedited and uneffected recording, all edits and effects are added on the fly, without altering the recording. That's a strength because everything is revertable, but in your case it might mean you have to redo evereything you did.

Really, the 08 files open in 11 without any of the effects, automation, etc.....?

No, that's not what I said. I was talking about the raw recordings in the project package that are never altered.
