How do I rename things on pages?

In file all that is available is "save a version" when I click this it does not give me the option to rename my document.

    What version of OSX are you running?

     

    Menu > Apple > About This Mac

    Rename the file in the finder. Wherever you saved the document, go there in the finder, click the document, press enter and you will be able to rename.

    In OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion you can click on the file name at the top of the document window in Pages, and are able to change its name, but you have to select the entire name and retyping to change it. A bug stops you changing just part of it.

    Peter,

     

    I am running OS X 10.8.2 and Pages v4.3.

     

    Five minutes ago, I could select the Rename... menu item from that inverted triangle adjacent to the document name. The document name changes to show only the base name highlighted, not the extension. Changing that basename only, and pressing return, the filename changed correctly. Here is the flow:
