When I try to continue a Numbers table that simply fails at the simplest things. Have a look at just two pictures. When one is not akzpetiert the other. I'm stumped.

You are pointing to a cell that is indicating an error (as demonstrated by the orange triangle in the cell).

What is the message you see if you click the triangle in the cell?

I clicked on a cell where I introduced an error (I reference a cell that is not in the table) and here is what I get:

The formula you entered has a syntax error.  The formula entered is not correct because the text for the formula elements is not converted to a tag. like:

    Good:

    Bad:

The cell "WP Nacht Verbrach 01.02.2013" is not a good cell reference

I do NOT recommend using the Feature "Use header cell names as references" in the Numbers Preferences.

I copied the cell and entered manually ... nothing, always the same, no matter what I do. The cells can not be marked as in the first picture.

I can do and what I do ... It's not easy.

I can not put the makierung. After Copy Paste the gotta be possible. Surely it can not be that even copy paste does not work.

Copy & Paste has to run yet, but this will not either.

Best I can tell you are attempting to reference a cell who row header names do not match the row and column in the table.  Are you trying to reference a cell in another table?

Sometimes Numbers has problems with cell references. Often it happens when using header cell names as references and very often it is when a cell header (and, therefore, the reference) has non-alphanumeric characters in it. But it also happens sometimes with normal cell references like B2, C10, etc..

As Wayne suggested, open Preferences and uncheck the box for "use cell names as references". That may be enough to fix your problem.

When this problem happens to me, I do this workaround to get around the bug: Instead of selecting the cell I want to reference, I will select a cell next to it then I will adjust it to the correct cell afterward.  As an example, if I want to create the formula =B2 but it won't turn the "B2" into a reference, I will write the formula as =B3 then I will change it to B2 afterward.  Usually this works.

that has helped me. Thank you. It is still impossible. I hope Apple releases an update sometime soon out for iwork. So such things are simply better implemented. In addition, a speed would just update necessary. On a Corei7 3.4 with 32GB Ram, the program is just plain lazy and it's no fun to work with.

We have been waiting patiently for several years for such an update.
