LTE is very fast 4G

3G is slow, slower.
All of these are essentially marketing terms more than they are a pure technology standard.
And then there is True 4G, and I don't know if the iPhone falls into that category.
The iPhone 5 (att version) in the USA, will failover from LTE to 4G to EDGE to GPRS.
This is carrier dependent. A Verizon or Sprint iPhone phone will either show LTE, 3G or a small circle that means 1XRTT (roughly the equivalent to Edge). On the iPhone "4G" is simply a marketing term for HSPA+.

I am also facing the same issue after upgrading to 6.1 my battery just dies very quickly. I have the same setting which I had in 6.0 and the battery was very good, but after upgrade its gone for a toss. The battery dies very quickly.

My Iphone 5 is not working as wonderfully previous to this 6.1 update. The battery is draining very fast using LTE and even Wifi or doing nothing by night with airplane mode. I also suspect that usage statistics doesn't work as before that it really showed my use. It is impossible that I have 17h 48 minutes of standby and 13h 30 minutes of usage in 19 hours!!! My battery is now at 1%. Previously to this update I was really at standby for more than 2 days... I want to recover my Iphone before this awful update!

For me everything is fine coz my battery usage is always beyond 1 day.
and i think using 3G is the main source if battery drainage.
and if u are a heavy user of your phone and using 3G always i might say that your phone will definitely drain for few hours.
Download battery doctor in apps store, it will make your charge habit to be more accurate
i hope it helps you
