how to upgrade my os to mountain lion from snow leopard with a os back up

Hi to all in community


     Currently am using MacBook with Mac os X 10.6.8 snow leopard. i would like to upgrade to mountain lion and i found the way to upgrade it.


     Now am here with an issue, i have the snow leopard os backup software in a cd which i got when i purchased my MacBook in sep' 2010. how can i get the mountain lion backup when i upgrade it, so i can use this backup cd when my os gets crashed or do i need pay $19.XX again to get my mountain lion os?



My Configuration:


processor : Core2Duo

RAM         : 2GB

HDD         : 250 GB

iPhone 4, iOS 4.3, i am using Mac os x(snow leopard)
