Many reported battery drain problems when going from 6.0.1 --> 6.0.2.  Did 6.1 fix the battery drain problem?

For me it's worse. Since I updated with 6.1 the battery life of my iphone 5 decreased. I plan to restore the phone...

What were you running before?  6.0.1? 6.0.2?

it does not.  you need to restore and set up as NEW phone via itunes.   this is the ONLY fix.

    then re-sync your data

i did the update last night and let the phone charge. this morning i went from 95% to 86% in the matter of an hour. No emails, No push updates, MIN web browsing, 1 5 min phone call.

With 6.1 I am at 79% with 3 hours 3 minutes usage, 7 hours 47 minutes standby.  I have an iPhone 5 on Verizon, location services on, wifi on, bluetooth on, ask to join networks off (under wifi).  I did a hard reset after the update - hold both buttons down until the apple appears.  So I do not believe there is a battery drain problem with 6.1.

Finally, I am one of the lucky ones. Where my iPhone 4s battery drained like it had a hole in it under iOS 6.0 and 6.0.1, iOS 6.1 seems to have returned it to the long battery life I had under iOS 5.1. I don't know what Apple did, but it sure seems to have worked for me. I'm a lucky happy camper now!

Many reported battery drain problems when going from 1.0 to 2.0, from 2.0 to 2.1, from 2.1 to 2.2, from 2.2 to 2.2.1, from 2.2.1 to 3.0, from 3.0 to 3.1, from 3.1 to 3.1.3, from 3.1.3 to 4.0, etc. all the way up to 6.0.1 and now 6.1. The conclusion should be that battery drain problems are not a bug in any one version, but something that happens during the update process. And the fix has always been the same: find the app that was interrupted during the update process and is stuck in a loop trying to complete what it started. One way that usually fixes it is to drain the battery until the phone shuts off, then charge for 4 hours with the wall charger. When the phone shuts off it kills all background processes.

Another is to turn off any Push email accounts, reboot the phone, and turn the email accounts back on. Beyond that it becomes more detective work, but there IS some app that is stuck and is causing the battery drain.

how do you know if an app is stuck? i restore the phoen through itunes and installed everything 1 by 1. PITA but i did it. Also turned off all sync with mail and rebooted and turned it back on. I cut a lot of iCloud services off and don't even use LTE. I went from 90% today to 79% in an hour with the phone IN MY DESK.

    13 Hours Standby

    5 Hours Usage

Well, i restored the phone once again but don't know if that did anything because i downloaded all my same apps....again. I reset network settings, used til it died, plugged it in over night, woke up unplugged, hard reset, plugged back in til 100% and used it today. Normal usage: text, groupme, couple of phone calls and some facebooking. I did make an effor to close apps out of the app drawer when not in use. No clue if any of this fixed it or not...but i'm happier now.

Yes - It worked for me!  Battery drain was hopless on my iPhone 5. Would run down overnight sitting on the night stand.  Apple advised shuting down various services.  Not really an answer.  Why have services if you cant use them.

Now with upgrade to 6.1 yesterday,  I am a happy camper!

I let battery run down completely and now battery is working fine, just like my old iPhone 4.  Still on 100% after 4 hours.

Well take that all back.  The battery is still hopeless.  Apple suggeted restore and set up as new phone.  Did that.  Battery still drains.  Loses 75% overnight doing NOTHING.
