Pages' default black is not actually black it is a cmyk mix of c74/m71/y64/k87.
At least on my Mac. Not sure what Amazon's problem is. Are they upset that the text is not pure black? Because they are saying the opposite.
Did you correct all your text to be pure black?

I guess I was mistaken in thinking I could use Apple's "ePub Best Practices for Pages" as a template for all the books, and upload them into Kindle.
Have you also tried the Kindle forums? Apple's instructions are of course geared to producing books for iBooks, not other companies' ebooks readers.

Thanks for your reply.
Kindle wants the font color to be set on "automatic" or "default." I can't find anything in Pages to accomplish this. I have made no changes to the font or colors in the original "ePub Best Practices for Pages".
