Thanks, these were a little helpful in indicating it can be done but not specific enough to get rid of the browser button. I'm thinking I need to reinstall Safari frsh to get rid of the Comcast junk.
Very funny slogan about the castle. Do you really want to own a drafty cold castle?

You may have to do that but uninstalling Safari can be tricky; I understand it is integral to the OS. More reading I'm afraid but if you type 'Uninstall Safari' into Google there are several links dealing with it plus one particular reference to Lion, I notice.
< off topic > Actually it is Leeds castle, one of the best preserved in England. I couldn't afford the locks on the garden sheds !!!
Thank you for the star.

It is under the back/forward symbols, in line with the eyeglasses, bookmarks and "show pages" icons. In Safari it is now equal to the bookmarks button. In the drop down menues it appears under bookmarkes as the last option, bookmark bars... which I have not used in the past.
Upon looking into the bookmark bar area, within the bookmark section, I dound a file called Infinity... deted it and it is off my icon area. Solution found... but I'm still unhappy with Comcast making a change in my browser I did not ask for or want.
