day 3.battery life still much better than on previous ios versions.starting to believe they actually fixed it (4-5 months too late but hey..) lets hope it stays this way.currently at 41% where i would usually be down to less than 10%

Yes some good items to disable are as follows:

1: SIRI raise to speak (if you dont hold it to your ear to start SIRI)

2: settings>privacy>location> system services..  Turn off everything except Cellular,Compass and traffic

3: settings>general>about>diagnostics and usage..  set to dont send

4: any app  notifications or locations that you dont necessarily need that information for

5: remove stock ticker from notifications section (again if you dont really need it there)

Those are some items that most folks wont miss or need and should help with battery life. Also here are some Apple recommendations. http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html

Thanks for the wishes mate, and i did had better luck

    Same trip everyday

This morning the iphone drained again 48% in 1:14 min from full, using tomtom western europe

But on my way back i used the girlfriend samsung S3 with sat nav and google maps

In 1:30 min due to trafic,it lost only 29% from full

I hope you can do the math

Eitherway,i dont belive that the battery should be gone in 2:30min,in any circumstances

My old iphone 4 used to take me from london to birmingham(2:30min) and back, and i still had around 10% left in the thing

I have to admit, there is a slight improvement when im surfing over 3g,but nothing to be impressed about

But the tomtom app(£53) is gone to waste now

The droid market is looking realy tempting now, after owning 4 diferent models iphone

    Ca1eb -

I'm not sure you are being realistic in your expectations.  Using TomTom GPS will drain your iPhone extremely fast.   You cannot compare it to the Galaxy S3, which has a huge battery, by comparison.   If you intend to use your phone as a GPS, a car charger is in order.

I use TomTom on my iPad-3 when in my motorhome and it ***** so much power that even the car charger cannot keep the iPad charged.   The APP just uses a lot of power.

    I see your point

But if u read the whole lot of what i wrote, you will actualy see that my old iphone4 used to take me twice as far,and back without any charging at all.so blaming the poor old 3rd party app, does not make sence to me mate

My conclusion is(im not expert in any way,by the way)that apple developed better phone, with twice more powerfull CPU,with bigger screen, twice the RAM,and an extra antena or 2,and kept the same battery

So something dosent quiet fit in that enginering

    But then again,im not expert

At the moment im at 4:50 usage,6:30 standby and with 30% left(i charged it at lunch time to full and play simcity a bit+ youtube+emails and a bit of safari)

All silly things are off appart from basics

You hit the nail right on the head Ca1eb!   Not enough battery capacity!!!!   We agree 100%

i can agree that it does appear they have fixed the issue with severe drain on standby. but using the phone still is using far more then it ought to.

    currently at 83% battery

    Usage: 1 Hour, 55 Minutes

    Standby: 7 Hours, 8 Minutes

I haven't really been doing much on the phone today though, little bit of email and imessage only. 3G only

I've definitely noticed improvements as well, particularly with battery drain on standby. I haven't left my phone unplugged overnight yet, but with all previous versions of iOS6, if I left my phone on a table for 20 minutes or so untouched and then woke it up, I could see the battery drop one percent. Pretty much every time I woke it up after not being used for a while it would drop one percent. With previous versions of iOS6 I would lose at least 10% overnight if I left it unplugged. And that was with iCloud turned off, mail set to manual, and connected to wifi all night.

However, I'm still losing 1% every two minutes on LTE. I'm curious to know if anyone is getting better LTE numbers? I'm not really bummed about it because I'm connected to wifi 90% of my day, and the improvements in battery life while asleep have helped to the point where I can make it through the day without charging.

I'm overly happy with my battery now.  I am down to 7% with over 40 hours standby and 6.5 hours of usage.  I was at 50% exactly when I woke up this morning with just under 23 hrs standby and 2 1/2 hrs usage.

So, I did my overnight standby battery test on 6.1. Unbelievable!

Charged the phone to 100%. Unplugged charger at 12:24am and went to bed.

    iCloud on

    Push off

    Mail fetch 15min

Only apps backgrounded: settings, mail chimp, Facebook, Pinterest, Talkatone

Didn't touch the phone once and at 9:36am this was my usage stats:

    Usage - 4hrs, 2min

    Standby - 9hrs, 11min

How is there 4hrs of usage when the phone isn't being used at all? What could be causing this? I'm losing my mind lol

And forgot to mention, the battery was at 54% when I woke up

Wait for your second charge. Mine is right back to pathetic. 18 hours of standby to 0% from 100%. No push no apps running.

I'm guessing that one or more of these apps is causing your problem.   Maybe disabling them all, then re-adding them one at a time mught uncover the culprit?

    Jameson-

When I installed 6.1 is did a complete restore, so those apps have already been installed fresh. I just don't get it.
