Sorry for the delay in this, had to bolt outta town for the weekend...
Tried deleting the markers and try audio sync, and still no dice. Audio is analyzed, multicam clip made, but one camera remains blank (footage checked out fine when played by itself).
This one is driving me batty.
I REALLY want the multicam to work...it's my one remaining block.

Yeah - all your media is in ONE Angel!
Make sure to:
1: Select clips from Cam1
2: Set Angel Name and/or CamName in the Inspector (can be done for multiple clips at once)
Repeat for other cam angels.
Make sure the New Multicam.. dialog has Angel Assambly set to either Cam Angel or Cam Name (as set above):

"Add a new lane in the multicam editor...." I'm assuming you mean drop footage into the multicam clip timeline (where i WOULD <should..haha> see multiple cams...correct? Or am i missing something?
HOWEVER, here's an update:
I zoomed into that timeline. See that TINY blip on Closeup cam line? I didn't at first either. Zooming in more I see:
It appears that FCP for some reason was treating that cam like a single frame of footage (notice the "L" and "Reversed L" in the viewer? I couldn't ripple trim to reveal either. Seeing that i deleted it from my multicam timeline, pulled clip down into multicam editor and hand lined up the sync marker. Then it appeared OK.
Hmmm...I edited the project in FCP 7 so pressure is off, I'll keep trying to see if this gets recreated.
More to come, i think. THoughts on why that happened?

Well, I have never used 'Clips' to sync after, but either Automatic or specific Camera Angel or Camera Name.
If 'Automatic' does not work in all 3, I would spped things up, but making sure Camera Angel is set, select that and then make sure to select Timecode (clock for non TC footage) as Clip Ordering.
Not many clips have failed here, with that settings. But check if your clock/time seems to be close to each other on the two cams.
If not, use the Modify: Adjust Content Created... menu.
