I hace recently upgraded the harddrive of my MacBook Pro Late 2008 to a Seagate Momentus XT 750GB. I am experiencing dissapointing performance, and I believe it is relamed to the following message I get in the console:

jnl: unknown-dev: flushing fs disk buffer returned 0x5

I would really appreciate any hint on what to do. The only info I have found dates back to 2008 and are related with other hard drive models.

To be complete I am running Mac OS Mountain Lion.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2008), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

The drive is malfunctioning or was not installed correctly. Could be a loose SATA connector or a damaged ribbon cable. Otherwise RMA.
