No, as noted in that thread, it did not work for Babowa. I have never attempted it.

In my posts helping people with post-Rosetta problems, I stopped advising people to use the so-called "install Rosetta into Lion" method of attempting to get Universal software to work if it had only a PPC Installer.

And I suggest others not do so until the issue is clarified.

Plus, even if it worked in Lion, there is evidence on this forum that it does not work in Mountain Lion.

My original question to your post on this thread was in the hope of tracking down someone who directly had success with this method; not any attempt to be contrary towards you.

Quite honestly, I always found the idea that installing Rosetta in Lion to allow PPC installers to work, but not of the PPC programs themselves somewhat not credible.

Nevertheless, I continue to attempt to find someone with credible direct experience on this issue.

Perhaps you should do an experiment? There are copies of early version of FCE and FCS2 on ebay, etc. You could try it and give a credible report if it is a go/no go?

The "Bobowa" post you feature is literally the first post I've seen where someone reports that it does not work - I've just never seen people returning to the thread saying "Hey, this failed" - and have seen a more than a few of these threads.

    Just a thought.

While I was willing to purchase a used demo of TeacherEXPRESS for $1 with $3 shipping from Amazon, just to help out those on this forum who are having trouble running these types of educational programs due to their not having been upgraded from PowerPC (which is understandable per the underfunding of our educational institutions in this country):

But Final Cut, a program for editing video!?!

My foundation frowns upon any expenditures towards those who are not charitably challenged!

Why don't you contact a few of those previous "yes, it works" posters, and have them contribute to this thread!

Maybe installing Rosetta into Lion is so volatile that nothing remained afterwards to come back and post!
