I am FURIOUS because about an hour ago my phone randomly shut off while it was in my purse. I had just used it and it was not low on battery. After driving home and connecting it to my MacBook, then holding the sleep and home button, it restored to factory settings. I was annoyed, but unalarmed because I knew I could restore from backup easily. However, my cloud has apparently not backed up my phone since November, the day I upgraded from a 4s to my iphone5. This is particularly frustrating because I don’t understand why it was not automatically backing up to Cloud. I noticed after my last iTunes update that I could no longer manually backup by right clicking my device in iTunes, but trusted it was automatically doing so daily, as it’s supposed to. Now, I learn the hard way that it was not doing so, and I am left without the last 2+ months of my phone. Is there something that I am missing? Is this happening often? Suggestions are greatly appreciated.
