It looks like the lid sensor is triggering sleep because it thinks the lid is closed when it really isn't. There could be three reasons for that:

    1. The SMC needs to be reset.
    2. You're putting something magnetic near the sensor.
    3. The sensor is faulty, or you have some other hardware fault.

You've already ruled out #1. If you can rule out #2, take the machine to a service facility for testing.

I had the same problem and just found a very simple solution. KEEP YOUR MOBILE PHONE FROM YOUR MACBOOK AS FAR AS POSSIBLE. My iPhone sleeps my mac if I put it on the left side under the keyboard.

Turn Bluetooth off on your computer or phone depending on which does not use it as often, until you want to sync.

I am having issues with mine as well. I leave it at office connected to 2 dual monitors and sometimes when I get to office, it is on the screen and then everything reopens up when I log back in. I don't want anything to change. How do I fix this?

    Thanks in advance,

Same issue here, I'm on an iMac mid 2010 I did SMC reset, pram, cache file removed.  I also Had the machine bench tested by an apple service technician. Apple did me wrong a few monthsback when I went in for the Hard drive replacement program the also replaced my logic board without informing me, I didn't learn this till I was home and looked over my reciept.
