No you cannot. You cannot run software on the iPad that has been written for either Mac OSX or Windows.

That's not running it on an iPad. That's just screen sharing with it running on a Mac - something the OP specifically said he didn't want to do if you had bothered to read the post properly.

as already noted, ableton live will not run on an ipad.
ableton may release an ios app, but it won't be anywhere near as complex. this will not change any time soon.
