Hi,

This morning (Europe time), I started Safari and went to my mail tab. A mesage told me that 'for security reasons' my Apple ID had been disabled and I should go to 'iforgot.apple.com' to reset my password.

I followed the on-screen instructions, entered my Apple ID and then opted to 'answer security questions'. This I did and the system accepted my replies. I then selected a new password which I entered twice.

The password was accepted by the system and the on-screen instructions told me that I could now access my account.

I went back to icloud.com and put in my Apple ID and the NEW password. Up came the message that 'for security reasons' my Apple ID had been disabled and I should go to ... hang on, I just did that.

I tried the new password on my iPhone. That was rejected too.

Strangely enough, I needed to use the new password to get into this forum, so why did THAT work yet I'm still loked out of my icloud/mail account?

Hope someone can figure this out?

Thanks for your time.

Stu

Did you receive an email asking you to verify the password change.

Me too.  I'm in exactly this situation.  In answer to Winston Churchill's question - I can't receive any emails on my iCloud account because I can't access it.

When I was at work yesterady I didn't have the time to spend on phone calls to apple, I'm afraid.  But when I got home my mac allowed me to get to iCloud with the new password after a while.  I had to restart Mail to get that to work; and then I restarted my iPhone and that started to get emails from iCloud too.  I had previously resdt it several times during the day to no avail.  I think that I was not getting emails for at least 12 hours overall but everythings fine now.

Someone else has just started another thread about this today so I guess it's not just you and I affected.
