Has Apple blocked Java again from it's systems without any notification?  I have to use Java to be able to work from home - so today = no work it would seem.  Does Apple have an update as to when this issue will be resolved or is now the time to change from my beloved MacBook Pro back to a Windows PC .... Additional expense that I really don't need + losing pay from today.

Yep - on Thursday (yesterday). The only way that I know to get around it is to use Oracle's 7u11 & Firefox - it is also blocked, by default, in Firefox 18, but you can enable it when the warning appears:

i was able to get into java 7 using Safari using mountain lion 10.8.2? confused, awaiting call from support maybe it is only for lower than 10.8.2 or older OS systems? Confused, but will get an answer from a real person in about 2 hours or so.

Using Safari? That would be some good news for those that need Java in Safari... can you post a screenshot of the Oracle Java test page?

BenediktRPIi already had those checked so it is working for me. I never was not able to get in. so i think it is not applying for moutain lion 10.8.2 using Safari. I put in the support call before i tried it, saw notice on CNBC and put in a call, just checked Java and i get i every time.

I just got off the phone with apple and there is a protential problem with Java and will have a solution in a few days. Java/Oracile is working on it as I type. I seem to have no problems with my full version of norton, heavy safety on my router/modem, so I can get into my few accounts with Java - scottrade and my bank. BUT THERE IS A PROBLEM yet with my security and java -I GET IN EVERY TIME using Safari 10.8.2 mountain lion. even ran a norton full system check prior to the phone call to apple support and have no problems. It seems that older versions are having the problem. In Safari under preferences and security tabs i have enable java and enable java scripts. so maybe it is your version that is blocking it. if you have lower than OS X 10.8.2. but if your doesnt still work take a day off and i am sure it will be fixed by Monday* hopefully.

Yep, working for me in both Safari and Firefox - are folks using Safari still having problems?
