When you select multiple objects using a click-and-drag rectangle, as long as the rectangle touches an object, that object is included in the selection. Although this is useful, on occasion, on a cluttered slide, it would be nice to be able to opt for a behavior by which an oject is only selected if it is fully inside the click-and-drag rectangle. (I think some drawing programs have included this as an option.) Is there a way to do this?

I dont see how that would make selecting objects easier or more accurate, its more helpful to make a  selection by click and drag using the starting point and ending point  as a guide, then refine the selection with the  command key.

there are many ways to select objects:

    • to individually select objects, press the command key and click on the individual objects
    • command A to select all the objects then, then refine by command click to deselect objects from the selection
    • use click and drag to select objects in an area, then command click to select or deselect individual objects

I understand the methods and I use them all. However, sometimes it is annoying to have an object added to the selection just when the click-and-drage rectangle brushes it.

then just reduce the selection by a few pixels.
