First of all what disks are you trying to install? Is it a black mac OS X disk or a gray disk?
Put the disk into the drive and hold down the option key while booting. Does it display the menu and if so does it show the disk as a selectable item?
hi knucklesmac thanks for replyin i have got the black mac os x panther discs v 10.3 when i had the old hdd in it dose not show the pic on the disc in the options when i have the new hdd in it shows the pic on the disc but neather will let me select all it lets me do is click the arrow and then it goes to the gray screen with the circle and line thought it
You're disk should be fine to install. I've had this problem once before with a 12" PowerBook. For me it was a problem with the hard drive cable. There PowerBook recognized the drive, but wouldn't allow an install.
What I would suggest doing first to see if it helps, is try resetting the PMU if you haven't already done so.
If not then it sound to me like a similar problem with the hard drive flex cable.
