Contact Verizon... they do not sell unlocked iPhones.
Only carriers lock iPhones and only carriers can unlock iPhones.

Apple does not provide support via email.
If you have a Verizon iPhone and want it unlocked, contact Verizon to inquire about their unlocking process.

The SIM slot on the Verizon iPhone 5 is not locked. However, the Verizon iPhone 5 is NOT advertised or sold as "unlocked". I realize that's counterintuitive... Because of the nature of the Verizon phone, if may not work properly on some foreign networks.
Contact your carrier for assistance, or return the phone for a refund and buy one that is either intended for use in your region, or sold as "unlocked".
