When leaving a wifi area the indicator changes from wifi antenna to LTE, but the phone is hung, no data service. Nothing helps except power off and on, then all is fine, 16 Mbit LTE service. Anyone else? Any tips?
Tap Settings App > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
DON'T DO THIS! It will wipe every one of your wifi accounts/passwords. I found out the hard way.
It's also just as slow as the non-destructive powering off/on.
Anybody else with this issue? Any tips? This is happening more frequently to me-I'd say about 4 times/week, especially when I leave work wifi. The only fix I found is to power off/on. Thanks.
what did you think it'll do, in any case? did you think it will not wipe out your passwords when it says "reset"?
It doesn't matter what I thought; I assumed brad805 knew it wouldn't, or he wouldn't have suggested it, since power off/on works better, albeit just as slowly.
He meant to do it once, in the hopes that it will be fixed.
iOS 6.0.2 fixed my wifi problem.
I also haven't noticed the problem with 6.0.2.
I have this problem too. Which carrier are you on? AT&T? I have not heard of any Verizon users with this problem yet.
Verizon. It hasn't happened since switching to 6.0.2 (now 6.1) a month ago.
Same problem on my iPhone 5. On Rogers in Canada LTE. I'm running 6.1. I fix it by turning Airplane mode on then back off. Quicker than a power off/on.
This sounds like a different problem; mine wasn't solved by toggling airplane mode, and is now fixed in 6.1.
Maybe it's sensitive to carrier.
