In using Numbers for a check book spreadsheet, is there a way to auto-fill income transactions that are the same each month without having to type the entire transaction each time it is used?

Thanks for your help.

Numbers/Preferences/General/ Show auto-completion list in table columns. This will make a list of possible matches as you type characters.

Or you can create a popup menu of your typical transactions (which would also include, as the first item, a space character).  Fill the column with this popup, all of them set to the space character for now. When entering a typical transaction you can choose from the popup. When you have an atypical transaction you can hit Delete to get rid of the popup then type in some other text.  Note that when you need to add rows to your table, you will have to manually fill (or copy/paste) the pop-up to the new rows.

A simple approach would be to have a table of repeated transactions. You could Copy a row from this list and paste it into your ledger when you need it.

Now I'm thinking I misunderstood the problem. I was thinking only of the name of the transaction, not the associated other data (such as the dollar amount).
