Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if fixed. If still problem, clean again very well with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol.

There is a short circuit, most likely in charging port. Next step would be replacement of the charging port assembly with flex cable. But this is not necessary, it is OK to leave your iPhone ON all the time. I never turn my iPhone OFF, it stays ON permanently.
