Just purchased iPhone for a well deserving person who has given alot of herself for others putting her needs second.

I thought this would be good for her hoping to lift her spirits.

Just noticed my Macbook does not have the port for the iphone 5 attachment to Mac,  How do I download her songs and other relavent info she will need in future?

iPhone 4S, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

The iPhone 5 will need a USB port on your MacBook to connect the cable. All MacBooks have USB ports.

What do you mean it doesn't have the port... It's a USB port... If your Mactook doesn't have a USB port, then I don't know what it is, but it's not a Macbook...

Let her set it up herself using her own computer. You can not sync or manage media on an iPhone from more than one iTunes library at a time.  If you add music to it using your computer, that music will have to be erased before she can add music to it using her own computer.
