Bluetooth audio, Mountain Lion, Macbook Pro, JBL Flip problems

Every time I power up the laptop, I have to go through the discovery process withe the JBL Flip.  I have to remove it from the list of bluetooth devices, and start over.  Is this normal for the computer/OS or is something wrong with the JBL Flip.
