Hello everyone,

Can some one help. My iPad running IOS 4.3 so I wanted to upgrade to 6.1.

I have a bunch of PDF and word files stored neatly on my iPad so in iTunes I backed up my iPad supposedly

I upgraded the IOS to 6.1 and when I turn on my iPad the PDF and word files are gone.

Any idea how to retrieve them.

Well, You would probably get better assistance in the iPad support forums, but I'll give it a try.

IIRC, to access files under iOS 4.x you needed to either have them stored on web storage (like DropBox or iCloud), have them in email attachments, or sync them to an app using iTunes directly.  If they are on the cloud, then you probably just need to re-connect to the icloud storage with the same ID/password.  If they were in email, you would need to re-access them from the email attachment.  Finally, if they were synced from iTunes, you may need to find the originals again on your computer to add them back to iTunes so they can be re-synced to the device.
