Well, according to this article form Apple ( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4859 ) videos on your camera roll are backuped up to iCloud. Of course it does make references to the suggestion that you use wifi for some of the backups, and I suspect that it might be related to the fact that some things only synce to iCloud (like Photo Streams) when you are connected to wifi.

As posted by GeekBoy.from.Illinois, the iCloud backup does include camera roll videos but they can only later be accessed by restoring your device to the entire backup. However, iCloud and photo stream do not sync or stream videos to your other devices. If you want to do that take a look at the app Video Stream for iCloud.

I don't understand why it doesn't support video.? Or why a third party app is required.
It makes out the video will be in the iCloud photo storage - yet you can't access it.

Because videos are extremely large and photo stream is free (doesn't count against your storage). I doubt it would remain a free service if it included video streaming.

Because iCloud doesn't back up previous camera roll, only from the date it was installed... I dragged into the iCloud folder on my laptop the older photos.
They all show on the laptop, but my phone hasn't updated to show these newly added files.

Sorry but I don't understand your question. Are you talking about photo stream? What is it you are trying to do and how are you trying to do it?

Yes photo stream.
I installed it recently, so any photos prior to that time aren't on/in photo stream.
So I plugged phone into laptop (viewed like a memory card) and dragged photos into the photo stream on my laptop.
I assumed my phone would sync with this. But it hasn't.!

You could try toggling photo stream off, then back on in your iCloud settings on your computer to see if that would get things going. If they are on your computer, you could also add them by deleting them from the camera roll on your phone (if they're there), then transferring them from your computer back to the camera roll on your phone using an app like PhotoSync. Once there, they will be seen as new photos and added to photo stream.

Toggling it on/off didnt work - so I signed out and in again, and that didnt work either... but it did somehow manage to duplicate some of my contacts.!!
Its such a pain in the a*se.

You might have to go the PhotoSync route. I've tested this before and it does work. Also, there are apps that will locate duplicate contacts, such as My Contacts Backup Pro. Or, if you have a Mac you can open Address Book and go to Card>Look for Duplicates, then merge any duplicates it finds.

I hear what you are saying, but its yet another thing I have to buy to overcome Apple's crappy system.
And I dont have a Mac.!!
It just drives me bonkers. And I have duplicate contacts now too.
It was bad enough that it moved all my Outlook contacts from my 'email account contacts' to 'icloud contacts'.
I am kinda scared now to do anything, as I never really know what is going to happen or be changed by Apple's programs.
