Searching by Image Name, Caption, or Other Text
25K photos is not a lot. Aperture can handle -- handily -- 10x that. Use the Activity Window ("Window➞Show Activity Window") to determine if Aperture is still looking. (You should also see a small current activity status line in the bottom border of the Browser.)
