So you've tried everything. I knew somebody who had the same problem, they ended up calling Apple and getting a new one. Have u tried to cal Apple and ask for help, and it might end up where u have to return it. The slide slip is used to lock the postion you want it in.

I'll have to call apple tomorrow. But I purchased my iPad through the HSN: home shopping network and I didn't purchase the warranty but its been less than a year ago will I have problems in returning? :(

If purchased through a authorized retialer, then you would have to get the protection plan through them. If bought by apple, them there is the 90 day return garuntee. But soem people I know go and by the Apple Care for iPad and then report the problem so that they dont have to worry about the hassle with Apple. If you desdie and just by the Apple Care and get it registered, must people I reconmend is Amazon, cause it's way cheaper and easier!
