The feed can be subscribed to manually in iTunes without problems, but we've had instances before where though that is true the Store is unable to access the feed. The only thing I can think of is that your server is not reacting properly to requests specifically from the Store - Dropbox can cause this problem and possibly your server is having the same difficulty. It's something you would need to take up with the people running it - possibly they have logs which might indicate why the request failed.

We run our own website and took this as an opportunity to wipe our server and databases clean. The problem still exists, however. I've run this past the guy in charge of the IT is confident it's not the server.
Do you have any ideas? I'm really struggling with this one.

It works OK when subscribing, validates in iTunes, and looks OK in FireFox (my default rss reader).
However examination of the text of the feed in Pages with 'show invisible' ticked shows that it has numerous tabs:
I don't know whether this is a problem with the Store but if I were you I should remove every last one of them.
