It would seem to be related to holding the keyboard in place (like the 2 sliders on either side), BUT there is no obvious correlating function on the computer cover.

What your referring to is the num lock indicator. This should eliminate green when F6 Num Lock is active.
Its effectively an LED that has a little clip which helps hold the keyboard in place.

The LED function works well, but the little clip that would physically hold the keyboard in place is missing.
Well the LED is like a screw. You twist it and out comes a little clip which holds the keyboard in place.
I should have a cross in the centre where you place a small flat end screwdriver.
The LED works very nicely and the screw does turn, but there is no little projection that emerges to fit in the slot of the computer top.
I wonder if it can be obtained on eBay...........
its a lock to keep the keyboard from opening
