I've just gotten Apple TV and I'm still trying to figure it all out.  So far, so good.  I want to watch all seasons of a show called Ice Pilots.  It isn't available on Comcast as a On Demand (at least I can't find it).  The only place I can find all the video's is on the History Channel's website:

I have a 2007 iMac running Lion, a new iPad, iPhone and 1st gen. Macbook Air and my brand new Apple TV.  I don't know if there is any way I can get the video's from the above website to my TV.  I see there are a couple of workarounds online for watching non supported iTunes video this way:  Beamer and Airflick.  But it appears that I need the video on my computer for them to work.

 

Can anyone please, please, please help me out here, is there any way I can do this?

    You can mirror with an app such as airparrot.  I have used mirror to watch a season of a show that was not available on iTunes and it was fine, albeit in SD not HD (it was an old show).  AAirparrot gives a mirror type function so no need to download the video.  It is a purchase for about 10 bucks.

     

    Take the trial first to see if it works for you.

    Well that sounded easy.  I downloaded a trial version, the video works perfectly but when I go to preferences to "start audio" with AirParrot, it said I needed a driver and did I want to download it.  I said yes and got a notice/warning that I tried to manipulate AirParrot and they took away the trial version!

     

    So now I'm a bad guy, they said the only way for me to get it is to buy it but I don't want to buy it if I can't get the audio working.

     

    Did anyone else have eto download a driver?

    I think there is another option called reflectorapp susan-kelly, but I have not used it.  I didn't need a driver for AP but I have hardly used it as I can mirror.

     

    Is there any reason you don't want the driver if it is an easy solution?

    I do want the driver but when I tried to download it AirParrot told me I was trying to manipulate the program and took it away from me.  Now I can't download the driver because when I try it tells me due to my trying to manipulate the program I can't have the trial.  I'd be happy to buy the program but I'd like to be sure the audio is going to work.  :-/

    No I'm looking now, this is clearly the same company as AirParrot.  What is the difference between the two, I can't seem to figure that out.

    As I said I had not used reflector, on closer look it mirrors iPad or iPhone to the Mac, not Mac to Apple TV so no good for you.

    Yes I have emailed them and yesterday I got an answer back that told me how to download and install the driver but as I explained in my initial email to them, I am unable to use the trial copy, because "it" thinks I tried to manipulate it, it won't work now.  And it says my only option is to buy it.  I'm happy to purchase it as soon as I know if I can get audio working on it.  But as of yet the support people didn't address the issue of the trial copy locking up on me. 

     

    Hopefully I can get it all straightened out today and I'll report back, because the video is awesome.
