is you're gonna put a case around it, then it doesn't matter does it?
if you are not going to put a case - it only matters to the person standing opposite to you or when you look in a mirror.
the phone functionality is unchanged.
All the folks I know that have an i5 have encased theirs, for protection, camouflage against thieves and grippability. Wouldn't imagine how slippery the ultrathin thing is!
But anyways, having just examined mine after taking it out of its Odoyo all-black faux-carbonfibre case with no telltale logo on its back, I fail to see how the finish could peel. In contrast to the 4's, that had a stainless steel band around them and breakable glass front and back, the i5 has aluminum sides and a center area in the back. There are two glass bands at top and bottom for better antenna operation. The finish is hard anodized into the aluminum. Won't peel but will scratch or buff off after much use, hence the encasing by many owners.
I didn't feel really I should be putting
A £600 worth of phone into a case I shouldn't
Be expected to do this by apple. I really don't know
Why people's have rubbed off after like a month
And they say it scratches very badly. Obviously if
It did come off apple would have to replace it as
This is its colour and customers expect it to stay this way.
They may be beautiful when fresh out of the box, but are made of fragile materials and have to be used in a real world. Else why do I have my $2000+ MBP inside a Speck hard case, as I do my i5? Had I not done so on the year-old Mac, the outside would surely be scuffed as evidenced by the marks on the shell. But it is your gear to use as you see fit. Wait till you have it in your hands and then decide.
The funny thing is sometimes I find
That some iPhones are ok. It's like
The materials were placed on better
Than others. It all depends I can have
A look if not ill send it back for a white
One. No bothers but that's time I haven't
Got. Never mind. Hopefully my i5 will be ok
