    iPhone 5 MMS Settings

If you are unable to use picture messaging on the new iPhone® 5, there are special settings to enable your unlocked device to use this service on T-Mobile USA.

    If you have an iPhone® 4 or iPhone® 4S Please see DOC-2383

If you have an iPhone 5 MMS settings are as follows:

    APN:     internet2.voicestream.com

    Usernme:

    Password:

    MMSC:     http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc

    MMS Proxy:

    MMS Max Message Size:     1048576

    MMS UA prof URL:     http://apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf

You may need to restart your device after entering these settings, also please ensure that Cellular Data is turned on as this will also prevent your picture messaging from working. iMessage® may be used as well since this is only messaging to and from other iDevices such as iPhone® - iPAD® - iTouch® and uses your apple ID through the data connection.

For all other iPhone® internet settings please Please see DOC-2383

T-Mobile Internet and picture messaging settings for Apple® iPhone®

    VERSION 23

    Created on: Aug 17, 2011 10:32 AM by tmo_randy - Last Modified:  Jan 28, 2013 1:53 PM by tmo_randy

    Overview

Here are the T-Mobile Internet and picture messaging (MMS) settings for the Apple® iPhone®. These instructions were designed around iOS 5.1.1. These settings may work for other versions of iOS, however their placement and/or naming may differ. If you have access to Wi-Fi, we recommend starting with Setup guide: Apple® iPhone® for the fastest and easiest setup.

Important: The Apple® iPhone® is missing the WCDMA 1700/2100 band, and cannot function on the T-Mobile 3G or 4G network until after our network reallocation has been completed. For this and other ways we're making it easier to enjoy the iPhone, check out T-Mobile Steps Up “Bring your own iPhone” Efforts.

Note: Read the disclaimer and notes on unsupported handsets, devices, and software for additional information.

Or if your conversants also use iPhones 4S or 5, you can enable iMessages and forget about all this carrier pettiness. The iMessages travel tru the Internet and thru Apple's servers, the carriers don't even see the content.
