Go to the View menu in the arrange page, and check your track header settings. Make sure that record is selected.
If you have already done this, sorry for stating the obvious.

Two ways to do it:
Go to the local Menu > View and select "Configure Track Header ..." This is the window where you check the Record Enable box
Or you can right-click on the Track Header to bing up the shortcute menu. This is where you check the Record Enable.Hope that helps
