Secondly, the problem may not be in 10.8.2 as such. 10.8.2 may have changed something enough to cause a conflict between the printer driver and something else that the people suffering the problem have installed.

And this is my point. You cannot say that this driver is not compatible with 10.8.2. But you can say what you have said here and that is your Mac, and others experiencing problems after upgrading to 10.8.2, has some other application or utility   installed (or had installed) that has only created this issue since the update.

If you read what I have written, you will see I do not say anywhere that it is incompatible. You are the only one who has used that word, and you have used it repeatedly to deny there is a problem.

True again. But what other item do you have that is causing the problem? Canon does not have your setup. They will have a clean installation of 10.8.2. So how do they determine the cause? Do they have to obtain/purchase every application and utility you have? Would you be prepared to give them a clone of your Mac so they can test?

The cause has yet to be determined, but while you keep denying there is a problem, we will never find out. How about making some suggestions as to how to determine what the issue is?

And as for Canon support, the only time I did ever contact them they were unhelpful in the extreme, denying there was a problem when there clearly was. Hmmm... that's remarkably similar to the discussion here......

Just out of curiosity, are you a Canon employee?

I am not denying you have a problem. I'm just saying that the driver is working for me and others on 10.8.2.

    As for suggestions;

Do you have third party utilities, like Little Snitch, on this Mac?

What non-Apple applications do you have?

Was this Mac an upgrade from 10.6/10.7?

Can you provide the LBP5050n information shown in System Information > Printers.

Is the ccpd.conf file still showing the same information that you showed previously?

Is the CUPS error log still referring to the connection being refused to the CCPD folder?

Is the printer set to DHCP or does it use a static address?

If the printer is using DHCP, what is the lease renewal time set to?

Previously when you got it to work for half a day, what happened for it to stop working?

    • Was the Mac turned off or in sleep mode for a considerable time?
    • Was any software or update performed?

    Here you are: http://files.canon-europe.com/files/soft38191/Software/CANON_CAPT_V310_EN.dmg

This is the driver for Canon LBP 3250 for Mac.

I installed it -> solved my problem already.

    Hope this will help
