Since your MacBook Pro is brand new, it might be possible that you do not have the time and date set properly.
In order for FT to work it is imperitive that the location you are using is set for the time zone you are in. Also take a look at the following link for trouble shooting FaceTime issues.

Thanks actually what happened to mine was that after a power outage my time and date got messed up. I had to change them manually and now it all works.

my facetime is doing the same thing. I have checked the date and time and it's fine, ive tried creating a new account both had no luck, this is so frustrating as it was working fine before. I just could not get connected when i called anyone tonight and then i loged out to see if that might be it and now i can't even log back in. The server encountered an error processing registraion Please try again later is getting quite frustrating. I use this all the time so very upset that it wont work. Can anyone give me any other tips? It's working fine on my phone!

I'm having the exact same problem... I made a new and different Apple ID and tried to log on via that one and it gives me the same error as when I tried the Apple ID associated with my iPhone. Any help out there?

Hey Guys I was having the same problem on my macbook pro and I was getting really frustrated lol, anyways I restarted my laptop and I was able to log back in and everything works great now!! you should try it!
