Thank you for the instructions.
Tried last night to downgrade to 10.7 unsuccesfully then realised this morning that I never had 10.7 in the first place.
I've now re-installed a version of 10.6, done the library file swap and everything's back! Hooray!
What I want to know is, is it worth upgrading to 10.7?

I had absolutley no problems with iTunes 10.7, So I would try to see if there were any fixes between the two versions, and what kind if any (usually stability/ compatabilty/ usability issues are resolved durring upgrades).
That way if you decide to go to 10.7 you at least know the diferences (if any). I would do if if I had 10.6 (if that helps any)
(but I would backup the important files from your itunes folder just in case you run into any issues)
THank you for your time,
(Sorry for typo's 3:18am... need to get to sleep)

I reinstalled 10.7 and used the previous library as per the instructions above, and didn't have any trouble...however, I lost all the songs and playlists that had been added after that library was created, which was several months ago. Is there a way to get those back? The songs can be added again, but it would be difficult because they're sorted in the music folder and I don't know which were new since then. Thanks in advance for your help!
